The Home Office awarded Migrant Help a ten-year, £235 million AIRE contract in 2019: advice on how to claim asylum, eligibility, and complaints. Income rose from £11 million to £45.7 million in the year to March 2023; more than 65 percent was the Home Office. The charity called Rwanda “cruel and immoral” and listed the Illegal Migration Act as a “key risk” in its annual report. Independent audits put £154 million of taxpayer income against it for 2020–24. You can call that service delivery. You cannot call it independence.
